Outreach

The researchers at the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) enthusiastically showcase the profound impact of interdisciplinary research and a holistic systems approach in addressing global challenges. Our teams take an active role in developing and delivering education programs that aim to bridge the gap between diverse technical subjects. These programs include hands-on laboratory activities and teaching modules that convey the intricacies of design, the challenges involved, the implementation process, and the vast potential of various technical topics. We provide access to students from K-12, undergraduates, and graduate levels, making these topics engaging and accessible.

Current programs include but are not limited to the Science Teachers Enrichment Program (STEP), the MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES) program, the Student Program for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE), and a variety of programs that engage with the community local to MIT. The STEP program is directly administered by RLE through the T. J. Rodgers RLE Laboratory and RLE faculty, while we provide support for and encourage our research groups to participate in MITES, SPISE and programs in the local community.
