MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES)
MITES, a long-standing MIT summer program, actively provides transformative experiences that enhance confidence, establish a lifelong community, and create an exciting, challenging foundation in STEM for highly motivated students in grades 7 to 12, particularly those from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. With the aim of catalyzing change in STEM, MITES seeks to promote equity and access through hands-on programs that come at no cost to participants and their families. MITES paves the way for our students, equipping them with essential skills, a strong sense of belonging in the STEM fields, and the empowerment to apply their knowledge to address pressing issues in their communities and the world.
RLE extends opportunities to graduate students to actively participate as instructors in this program, whether on a short-term basis (several hours) or for a more extended period (four to six weeks). Additionally, they contribute to program content by applying insights from RLE research.
